On May 14, 2024, Los Angeles Football announced the singing of Oliver Giroud and would join the club in July.
However, it’s already July, and the club has yet to confirm when Giroud will debut for the Black and Gold.
So, where on earth is Giroud?
So far, LAFC is not in a rush to put him on the pitch because of the Euros in Germany. France reached the semifinals, losing to Spain 2-1, and Giroud played the group stage matches in the second half. But he was on the beach on the knocked-out rounds apart, playing against Spain for 11 mins.
Another reason the 37-year-old hasn’t made his debut is LAFC’s incredible summer run.
Although the Black and Gold’s home unbeaten run ended against Columbus Crew at the BMO Stadium, they lost one game in 14 matches in all competitions.
LAFC attacking players Denis Bouanga and Mateusz Bogusz are leading the team. Cristian Olivera and Kei Kamara are also contributing.
Therefore, Giroud is on holiday before the 2024 MLS season’s conclusion. LAFC is in second place in the Western Conference with 47 points, just two points behind its rivals, the LA Galaxy, which has 49 points.
LAFC must now focus on the Leagues Cup when they face Club Tijana This Friday at home.
Four days later, LAFC will remain at home facing the Vancouver Whitecaps.
