Los Angeles Football Club has a lot of work to do as Carlos Vela gives a hint on his future. Denis Bouanga’s future is also uncertain as French Clubs are monitoring the 29-year-old.
LAFC already lost Diego Palacios, Giorgio Chiellini, and goalkeepers John McCarthy and Maxime Crepeau. Kellyn Acosta is rumored to be moving to Chicago Fire, But Vela’s future at the club is still hanging in the balance.
However, Vela gave us a clue as he removed any mention of LAFC from his Instagram bio. Therefore this could mean that his time at Los Angeles FC is over. However, the club has not given any updates on Vela’s future.
In December Vela told the media: “We’ll have talks and we’ll see if I can carry on playing here. I’d be delighted to stay, but if not, I’ll look for something else and will keep enjoying the little time I have left playing soccer.”
Time is running out for Vela to sign a new deal and not only Vela’s future is at risk. Denis Bouanga’s situation is heating up. The MLS Golden Boot winner tells lequipe he would like to leave and play in Ligue One or a European Club.
“My objective is clear and stated: I would like to come back and play in France or a European club,” Bouanga said.
Ligue one teams Lens and Rennes are thought to express an interest in signing the Gabaiaze international but is not confirmed yet. At the moment the club is in a sticky situation as the black and gold can lose both players.
The only solution is if LAFC offers a big contract to Denis Bouanga. With that in mind, LAFC may give up on Vela in a bid to keep Bouanga. Both players were exceptional last season Bouanga scored 20 league goals 38 in the competition. Bouanga’s goals are needed at this club and LAFC must do everything to keep him.
As for Carlos Vela, he has been a key player for LAFC in recent years and led them to two MLS finals and two Supporters Sheilds. Most importantly the club’s first MLS Cup triumph in 2022 and captained the team last year. But if he leaves it’s time to move on and find a player similar to him or a higher-level player like Garth Bale.
Not only find a Carlos Vela and Denis Bouanga replacement LAFC needs to sign quality players to remain competitive consistently every year.
