Seattle Sounders VS LAFC in the Conference Semifinals

November 14, 2023 by Los Angeles Sports Nation

LAFC booked their ticket to the Conference Semifinals as the Black and Gold face the Seattle Sounders on Sunday, November 26. It’s now or never for LAFC no more best-of-three series where a team has a chance, whether they lose, draw, or win after the first game.

Now it’s a singles game knockout, and LAFC will have to defend their title at all costs at Seattle. Since the Sounders finished above LAFC in the Western Conference League. LAFC will have an extremely tough away game, but it’s a winnable game.

As for the Sounders, they have experience in MLS Cups and will go for the win. Four years ago, the Seattle Sounders knocked out LAFC in the conference finals 3-1 at LAFC ground. This season, they are going for the repeat and have a team to compete.

Although the Sounders have a team, LAFC has a team as well. Let’s not forget last season. LAFC still has the same players from last season and has performed better than 80% percent of the rest of the teams in the Western Conference.

LAFC is clinical in front of the goal this year, dominating the midfield most of the season. However, at the back, it’s been a rollercoaster, but when Giorgio Chiellini starts, LAFC is well organized, and the leadership is present.

Also, LAFC struggled to play away, which is a major concern. The Black and Gold’s away record in the MLS season has been terrible, winning four out of 17 away games and scoring 18 away goals.

Seattle’s home form this year is decent, winning seven, drawing six, and losing four. This season, the Sounders have the best defense in the league. Just because they have the best defense doesn’t mean the Sounders can handle LAFC’s attack.

LAFC can beat any team in their path and they showed it this season. Although they haven’t had a trophy in their collection, they must put the meat on the grill and defend. It’s now or never, and let’s go to war and finish the job.
