There are just 25 days left until the 2025 MLS season starts.
The Los Angeles Football Club is getting ready ahead of the new season.
This winter has been busy for the Black and Gold in terms of getting and offloading players from the first team.
Not only the offloading and getting players, but their preseason is still en route, and LAFC has two games remaining.
So, let’s review what LAFC has done this winter before their MLS first kick-off versus Minnesota United at BMO Stadium on February 22.
Players
This winter, LAFC has been busy letting go of players. The Black and Gold let go of 14 players, five of whom have declined contract options.
Carlos Vela, Kei Kamara, Luis Muller, Tommy Musto, and Francisco Ginella are currently without a club and are still in discussions between both parties.

The Los Angeles Football Club has discarded most of its first-team players. Illie Sanchez signed for Austin, Jesus Murillo signed for FC Juarez, and Mateusz Bogusz signed for Mexican club CD Cruz Azul. In addition, Eduard Atuesta went to Brazil and signed for Palmeiras.
LAFC2 academy homegrown players Diego Rosales left for Guadalajara U23 on a free transfer, Erik Duenas signed for Houston Dynamo, and Tomas Angel signed for the new San Diego FC.
Meanwhile, LAFC signed five players: Mark Delgado from LA Galaxy, Igor Jesus from Estrela da Amdora, Nkosi Tafari from FC Dallas, and Yaw Yeboah from Columbus Crew. Although they signed players, the squad is thin and must add new quality players.
Preseason
LAFC has had an excellent preseason in 2025, winning three games and drawing one.
It beat the Portland Timbers, Chicago Fire, and Phoenix Rising and drew with the San Jose Earthquakes 1-1.
With one preseason game remaining against Mexican Club America on February 11th, LAFC starts their first match in all competitions against the Colorado Rapids in the CONCACAF Champions League on February 18th before facing Minnesota United in the MLS.
