Los Angeles Football Club needs one more victory to advance in the MLS Cup Playoffs best-of-3 series. LAFC beat Vancouver 2-1 in the first round at the BMO Stadium.
However, the Vancouver Whitecaps made a turnaround in the second round by beating the Black and Gold 3-0.
LAFC’s performances against the Whitecaps weren’t great in the last two rounds.
The Black and Gold had chances to score but couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net.
Also, LAFC’s defense hasn’t been great this season, and Hugo Lloris has issues passing the ball from the back.
In the second round, Vancouver Whitecaps executed and scored three goals, thanks to two own goals from Ryan Hollingshead and Eddie Segura and a goal from Ryan Gauld, who sent Vancouver Whitecaps 1-1 in the best-of-3 series.
The positive about this Friday is that LAFC plays at home at BMO Stadium. It’s their chance to make it to the Western Conference Semifinals and face the Seattle Sounders, who beat the Houston Dynamo 2-0 in the best-of-3 series on penalties.
The LA Galaxy, Minnesota United, and the Seattle Sounders have already completed their work and advanced to the next round.
Now, it’s time for LAFC to finish the job this Friday.
