Why Attending a Soccer Match in LA is a Must

Whether it’s at LAFC or LA Galaxy, watching a soccer game in the city is a must for both locals and visitors.

With the World Cup on the horizon, soccer fever is beginning to hit America, and the Los Angeles area has some great teams to get behind, including Angel City FC. For soccer fans, the options are solid.

It’s fair to say that soccer lags behind other sports in the country. Los Angeles is no different in that respect, with fans typically preferring to stay indoors and watch movies or play live blackjack instead of venturing to Dignity Health Sports Park to watch a massive encounter on the Major League Soccer calendar. Ultimately, though, while it’s tempting to session those commonly explored entertainment options, they can still be supplemented by a soccer game every so often.

In case you need further convincing, though, then below we highlight some key reasons why attending a soccer match in LA is a great thing to do.

Support Your Local Team

First and foremost, getting behind your local team is a powerful thing to do. Not only will you feel a sense of pride when they beat a local rival, but you’ll also feel more of a connection to the local community as a result. Soccer’s tribalism sets it apart from many other sports, and once you’re wearing your team’s colors with pride, you’ll know all about it.

An End-to-End spectacle

Arguably, the most appealing aspect of soccer is its entertainment value. With end-to-end games typically taking place, the goals should be flowing, and you’ll enjoy a superb spectacle. Sure, baseball and football games are also entertaining, but there is an argument to suggest they take too long.

Soccer games are a lot shorter, they’re just as gripping, and you can witness a great deal of skill from some of the most talented players in the country.

An Unrivalled Atmosphere

The population of soccer fans in Los Angeles also knows how to create a special atmosphere. Some of the chants are hilarious, they never stop, and the noise when a goal is scored is unlike anything you would’ve experienced before. Additionally, be it at half-time or while walking home after the game, fans are always debating with each other and bemoaning a manager’s decisions. Overall, the soccer community is a fantastic community to immerse yourself in. They’ll welcome you with open arms, and you’ll experience a truly unique atmosphere from start to finish.

Support Local Businesses

When you support your local team and attend matches, you’re also potentially supporting local businesses. Fans everywhere are in local bars and restaurants before and after games, while some stadiums also house local businesses selling their various products. With businesses struggling more than ever before, it’s a great way to support them in a small way.

Witness Some Future Stars

Some of Los Angeles’ teams are also filled with exciting young talents who could become global stars in the future. Likewise, the league, in general, is packed with emerging talents, with scouts from major leagues around Europe coming to watch them on a weekly basis. If you have an eye for a player and like the idea of watching the next big thing shine before the world does, then getting yourself down to a soccer game is highly recommended.

Food and Drink

Finally, soccer stadiums serve up just as much tasty grub and delicious refreshments as baseball and football stadiums do. If you want to entertain the family and keep them happy, you can devour some stunning treats while watching the big game.
