ESPN’s Jalen Rose believes the Russell Westbrook move makes the Clippers very interesting out West.
Appearing on “SportsCenter,” the 13-year NBA swingman said that he believes Westbrook could be just the injection of energy that the Clippers need as they seek to make their first NBA Finals.
Russ, like all players, has his flaws. But I think he’s taken unwarranted slander in a lot of ways and I appreciate how he’s reinvented himself. He’s now a wildcard for the Clippers. Here’s why: they have a lot of knockdown three-point shooters. Russell’s a great creator, plays with pace and he cares. That passion is going to infuse the Clippers and make them very interesting as we start shaping up this Western Conference race.
The Clippers are said to have crafted a very specific role for Westbrook, centered around his playmaking, rebounding and toughness.
He’ll now team up once again with Paul George, who lobbied hard for Russ to come across the arena and wear that Clippers blue and red.
