The 2025-26 Los Angeles Kings season is roughly a month away and we are starting to see the Kings future on full display. The Prospects are getting ready for the 2025 Rookie Camp, which takes place from September 11 to the 17th at the Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo, California. The complete roster can be found here. Here are four players to watch from the camp.
Kenta Isogai
Forward Kenta Isogai was a camp invite but could be one of the players to shine at the American Hockey League level with the Ontario Regin. From Nagano, Japan, the 5-foot-11 and 175-pound Isogai has a knack for scoring points in bunches. He is not elite at one thing but has an impressive skill set. An excellent top-six player, he relies on his Hockey IQ to set up plays and get out of danger. He is quite the offensive forward, producing wherever he has played. Last season for the Wenatchee Wild and Victoria Royals of the Western Hockey League he posted a combined 32 goals and 46 assists for 78 points in 59 games with 12 penalty minutes.
Ryan O’Hara
Forward Ryan O’Hara is a solid middle-six player capable of having a breakout season. Last season he split the year between the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL and Bowling Green State University of the NCAA.There he compiled 12 goals and 24 assists for 36 points in 46 games wo go along with 22 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-10 and 180-pound O’Hara looks to make an impact at the rookie camp as he is a good all-around player who can produce in the offensive zone.
Will Sharpe
Defenseman Will Sharpe is an underrated defenseman who was chosen by the Kings in the seventh round of the 2025 NHL Draft. Smaller in size, he is an offensive defenseman who can also play a dignified role in the defensive game. The 6-foot and 195-pound Sharpe splice last season with the Kelowna Rockets and Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League, He posted nine goals and 35 assists for 44 points in 66 games along with 46 penalty minutes. A future quarterback on the Kings power play.
Mattias Sholl
Goaltender Mattias Sholl comes to the Kings rookie camp as an invite but is looking to get the attention of the organization. The 5-foot-111 and 175-pound Sholl is a native of Hermosa Beach, California and is a young goaltender with a lot of promise. Last season he split time between the Swamp Rabbits and Bemidji State University of the NCAA . Over 421 games he would register a record of 16–19-5 with a .912 save percentage and a 2.81 goals against average. Could be Ontario-bound in the near future.
