The rookies and prospects of the Los Angeles Kings will be the focus of the 2024 NHL Rookie Faceoff. The three-day showcase will take place from Friday, September 13 through Monday, September 16 at the Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo, Caifornia.
Kings prospects roster looks strong
The showcase will feature 10 games, featuring the prospects and rookies from six other teams. Those teams include the Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks, Seattle Kraken, Vegas Golden Knights, and the Utah Hockey Club. Los Angeles will play three games over four days. The first game will be against the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday, September 13th at 7:00 PM PT. They will then play back-to-back games against the Utah Hockey Club on Saturday, September 14th and against the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, September 15th, wrapping up the mini-tournament.

11 Kings draft picks will be participating in this year’s tournament. From the 2024 NHL Draft will be forward Liam Greentree (26th overall), goaltender Carter George (57th overall), and defenseman Jared Woolley (164th overall). This showcase will also feature draft picks from the 2023 NHL Draft. Those players include defenseman Jakub Dvorak (54th overall), and Matthew Mania (150th overall), and forward Koehn Ziemmer (78th overall).
Seven members of the roster played parts, or all of, the 2023-24 season with the Ontario reign of the American Hockey League, the Kings’ AHL affiliate. Those players include forwards Quinn Olson and Francesco Pinelli; defensemen Brandt Clarke, Cole Krygier, Jack Millar, and Luke Rowe; and goaltender Erik Portillo, who established himself as the porganization’s top goaltending prospect with 24 wins last season.
