The Los Angeles Kings have announced the opening night roster for the 2024-25 season.
While there are some new faces this season, the lineup is also uncertain.
Consistency will be tremendous this season, as teams in the Pacific Division also brought in talent to make this division tougher.
That said, below is the 2024-25 Los Angeles Kings roster with player numbers.
The 24-25 Kings Roster Has More Depth
Forwards
- 9 Adrian Kempe
- 10 Tanner Jeannot
- 11 Anze Kopita
- 12 Trevor Moore
- 14 Alex Laferriere
- 15 Alex Turcotte
- 22 Kevin Fiala
- 24 Philip Danault
- 26 Akil Thomas
- 37 Warren Foegele
- 55 Quinton Byfield
- 61 Trevor Lewis
Defensemen
-
5 Andreas Englund
- 6 Joel Edmundson
- 7 Kyle Burroughs
- 21 Jordan Spence
- 44 Mikey Anderson
- 82 Caleb Jones
- 84 Vladislav Gavrikov
- 92 Brandt Clarke
Goaltenders
- 31 David Rittich
- 35 Darcy Kuemper
This lineup carries questions heading into the season opener against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday, October 10, in New York. With Byfield moving to center, will he play on the second or third line? Will Turcotte be injury-free and have a breakout season?
What defensemen get sent to the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League when Drew Doughty returns from injury? Will Kuemper be the goalie to take them all the way? Will Jeannot rebound from a bad 2023-24 season?
This roster may arguably be better than last season. However, will this change the postseason result this year?
With an improved Pacific Division, will the Kings even make the playoffs?
The Kings have high hopes for this season, and so does General Manager Rob Blake, who is in the last year of his contract. What will be the strengths and weaknesses of this version of the Los Angeles roster?
The Kings are in a tough, wide-open division, and every team got better after a wild off-season. Will the Kings outperform them to get to the Stanley Cup final? There is a lot of pressure this season for Blake and the Kings, who seem to be a playoff contender but fizzle out early. Will this season be different?
A lot of this season’s success will depend on the performances of the new guys, like Jeannot, Foegele, Edmundson, and the returning Kuemper.
They all must play above expectations to be a force in the regular season and playoffs. If not, it will be a repeat of last season.
