The 2018 team stands out, but who else should join them?
The Rams have won two Super Bowls between stints in St. Louis and Los Angeles. Although the Lombardi Trophies look great on the mantle, which Rams team do you think was the best to have never won a championship?
Obviously, the three Super Bowl losing teams from the 1979, 2001 and 2018 seasons made the cut. All three lost the big game in heartbreaking fashion. Okay, maybe not the ‘18 squad, which only scored three points against the Patriots. That’s one game we absolutely do not need to revisit.
One under-the-radar team that stands out to me is the 1973 squad. The Rams finished 12-2 and won the first of seven straight division titles. Another fun fact about this team is that it was the first Rams team to make the playoffs in the post-merger era.
Unfortunately, L.A. lost its first post-merger playoff game to the Cowboys. However, this team went 7-0 at home for the first time since 1945, when the franchise resided in Cleveland. Head coach Chuck Knox won NFL Coach of the Year in his debut season thanks to a dominant offense that averaged 27.7 points per game.
ground chuck (knox) 1973-1977:
in 1973 the rams averaged 47 rush attempts and 10 completed passes per game, a lopsided ratio that remains a rams record to this day (dating back to 1940).

Who are some other teams I missed that you felt deserved to win a championship? This can include any Rams team before the merger and during the Super Bowl era. Let us know in the comments!
