June is almost here, which means the odds of a Jalen Ramsey trade should rise exponentially in the next couple of days. Miami’s coaching staff has already admitted the star cornerback won’t return in 2025, but the Dolphins can’t afford to trade him before June. However, once the calendar changes, the Dolphins can spread Ramsey’s dead money over two years and clear over $9.9 million in cap space. Once that happens, Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams are one of the most likely suitors for his services.
Ramsey spent part of four seasons in Los Angeles and played a crucial role in helping the team win the Super Bowl in 2021. McVay spoke about a potential Jalen Ramsey trade in a recent interview and, while he said a deal isn’t close, he did add that the organization “loves” the lockdown cornerback.
“Obviously, we love Jalen. We love Jalen intimately,” McVay said. “There would be some things that we would need to be able to do if that was going to be a direction that we went. We certainly haven’t closed the door on that, but there hasn’t been any meaningful, tangible dialogue as of late. But that can always change pretty quickly, as you know.”

Sean McVay: We “Love” Jalen Ramsey, Rams Among 3 Trade Suitors
It’s easy to see why the Los Angeles Rams are favorites in the Jalen Ramsey trade sweepstakes. In addition to their previous history with the cornerback, McVay’s squad should be all-in on what could be the last season of Matthew Stafford’s career. The former first-overall pick showed signs of slowing down last year and has hinted at retirement in recent offseasons. While the Rams have the draft capital to land their franchise quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft, they should do everything in their power to hoist another Lombardi with a quarterback they know can succeed at the highest level.
Of course, the Rams aren’t the only team interested in a Jalen Ramsey trade. In a recent post, NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe said the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers are also pursuing the cornerback.
“Relationships are hard.” Jalen Ramsey and Dolphins are in midst of a split that will likely end in a summer trade.

Falcons, Panthers In Pursuit
The Atlanta Falcons are all-in on the Michael Penix Era. The quarterback played well in relief of an ineffective Kirk Cousins and now has an entire season to prove his worth. Atlanta clearly believes he’s up to the task, as the team sent their 2026 first-round pick to the Rams for James Pearce Jr. While he and Jalon Walker should help the pass rush, this team could use another cornerback. A Jalen Ramsey trade would be perfect and could give them the upper hand in winning a weak NFC South.
Carolina is in a similar boat, as the Panthers saw their young quarterback thrive down the stretch. However, it didn’t translate to wins, as the defense couldn’t hold up its end of the bargain. Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson are a solid cornerback duo, but adding a star like Jalen Ramsey to the fold should give the team one of the league’s premier secondaries.
