In return, the Rams got a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft while the Vikings also got a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Akers will help the Vikings’ running game after he fell out of favor with the Rams. He’s only played in one game this season and that came on Sept. 10 against the Seattle Seahawks.
He finished with 22 carries for 29 yards and a touchdown.
The Vikings will now have him and Alexander Mattison getting most of the carries each game as they try and get out of the 0-2 hole that they’re in.
Their next game will come on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. ET.
