A very important member of the Los Angeles Rams rushing attack is conspicuously absent as the team begins its offseason training program.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Rams head coach Sean McVay announced today that Pro Bowl running back Kyren Williams is dealing with a foot injury and won’t be taking part in the offseason program. But McVay said that Williams should be back for training camp in the summer.
#Rams coach Sean McVay tells reporters that RB Kyren Williams has a foot issue and won’t take part in the offseason program this spring. He should be back for training camp.”
Williams took over as the Rams’ starting running in 2023 and enjoyed a massive breakout season, recording 1,350 yards from scrimmage and 15 total touchdowns. He led the league in rushing yards per game and earned Pro Bowl and Second-Team All-Pro honors for his efforts.
The run game proved to be a massive boon for the Rams as they went 8-2 in games where they rushed for over 100 yards. They wound up making the playoffs after missing the postseason the year before.
So it’s a good thing that Williams is going to be back by training camp (though we won’t know when he’ll be back at 100-percent fitness).
