Sean McVay Excited To See How Rams Respond After Week 13 Loss To Panthers

December 1, 2025 by Rams Nation

Sean McVay, Rams, Panthers

The Los Angeles Rams had their six-game winning streak snapped with a stunning 31-28 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 13.

The Rams were big favorites in the game and looked solid out of the gate, but the Panthers seemingly had an answer for every score and capitalized on a few uncharacteristic mistakes made by L.A.

Stafford turned the ball over three times, including a pick-six and tipped interception in the end zone, along with a fumble in the fourth quarter.

Even though they came up short against the Panthers, head coach Sean McVay still has high hopes for the Rams and is excited to see how they answer back.

“Love this football team,” McVay said after the game. “I’m really excited about how we respond. There’s never a good story without a little bit of adversity. We’re all in this together.

“We’re going to be tighter than we’ve ever been, and it’s going to be a great opportunity for us to be able to respond. That’s what this group has shown they’re capable of.”

The Rams have an important divisional game against the Arizona Cardinals next week and McVay believes the team will get back on track.

“We’re going to stay tighter than we’ve been,” McVay explained. “This is a disappointing day, but we’re not going to stay in this moment for long. We’ll look at it, we’ll figure out how do we respond? How do we move forward the right way? And that’s exactly what we’re tasked to do, and that’s exactly what we will do.”

At 9-3, the Rams are tied with the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks for the best record in the NFC, so their Week 14 matchup against the Cardinals is an important one and they will need to quickly move on from a disappointing loss to the Panthers.

Chris Shula enjoys being Rams defensive coordinator but would consider head coaching opportunities

Chris Shula has been a valuable member of the Rams coaching staff for many years now, and while he enjoys his role as defensive coordinator, he would consider head coaching opportunities elsewhere.

“I think that’s the goal of any coach that wants to be in the league, you want to take yourself to the highest profession,” Shula said. “That doesn’t mean you’re going to walk away for any single opportunity.

“I love it here, my family loves it here, we’ve been here 9-10 years, coaching with my best friends, we obviously have a great group of players and a great staff. So for the right opportunity we’ll see. But like I said, not really thinking too much about that.”
