Williams has struggled this year for Seattle. In the recent matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, he was single-handedly responsible for at least two poor shotgun snaps that resulted in significant losses. This was a game where the Seahawks’ offensive line was already struggling against a fierce Los Angeles pass rush, and Williams made life even more difficult for Geno Smith and the offense.
Seattle was already—or should have been—contemplating a move to backup center Olu Oluwatimi. Oluwatimi was a fifth-round pick by the Seahawks in 2023. He played college football at Air Force, Virginia, and was teammates with Blake Corum at Michigan.
The Rams face the Seahawks again in Week 18 in Los Angeles. It remains to be seen whether this game will have playoff implications. Either way, Braden Fiske and company will be working against a new starting center.
