Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 10/10/21
Darrell Henderson Jr has yet to top a 100 yard game yet this season but the feeling is, it’s coming. He has so far, one game rushing over 100 yards in his career and that came in 2020 against the Buffalo Bills when he ran for 114 yards.
This season, he’s missed one game but in his first four games playing, he’s ran for at least 50 yards every time, over 70 once, and over 80 yards in the last two outings. His season total is 294 yards and his average is 73.5 yards per game.
Last season there were nine NFL rushers that topped the 1,000 yard mark. One of them was quarterback Lamar Jackson with 1,005 yards one of them was Derrick Henry with 2,027 yards.
With the addition of a 17th game added to the schedule, season markers like the 1,000 yard milestone are a bit easier to reach but while the number of entrees will likely increase, it will probably still serve as one of the primary indicators of a productive RB1. Can Darrell Henderson become a 1,000 yard rusher?
Over 17 games, a running back could reach 1,000 yards by averaging 59 yards per game. Henderson already missed a game, so for a sixteen game stretch the required average is 62.5 yards and Hendo’s average is well above that. Again the Rams running back is averaging 73.5 yards which puts him on a pace for 1,176 yards over 16 games. At this point, Henderson would reach 1,000 yards by averaging 59 yards per game for the remaining 12 games. The first challenge for that to happen would be staying healthy and active for that run. But if he manages to avoid injury, takes advantage of positive play of the offensive line, and continues his pace of production, he’ll have a good chance at adding a 1,000 yard campaign to his resume.
