Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 1/13/25
The Los Angeles Rams won their division and made the NFL made playoffs. To this point it’s been a good season, maybe a great season, but L.A. has a chance to make it an awesome season if they can pull out a victory on Monday night. Considering the Rams started the season 1-4, it’s remarkable what this team and Sean McVay have accomplished.
If the season ends tonight at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings it will be a bummer for the organization, and for the fans, but that shouldn’t take away from the successes they’ve had, and the building blocks they have stacked since rebounding from their losing campaign in 2022.
Of course, the Rams would be better off notching a playoff win. Nobody wants to be one and done in the postseason.
The only way to see what happens is to watch the game, but in the meantime enjoy your day and thanks for checking out Turf Show Times!
We should still be here whether they win or lose and we hope you are too!
Eagles slug their way past Packers in unsightly wild-card affair (sports.yahoo.com)
“The Green Bay Packers had a good season with one obvious flaw: They couldn’t beat good teams.
The Packers’ offense went nowhere against the Philadelphia Eagles in a 22-10 wild-card playoff game loss, which dropped their record against the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings and Eagles to 0-6 this season. It’s hard to feel too excited about an 11-win season when Green Bay seemed like a full tier below the NFC’s best teams.”
Vikings vs. Rams Playoff Game Remains in LA amid Wildfires; Arizona to Be Contingency (bleacherreport)
“The league announced it has prepared a contingency plan for Monday with the game potentially being moved to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona if necessary.
The NFL previously said it was “monitoring the situation’s potential impact” on the game, which is scheduled to be played at the Rams’ SoFi Stadium, per ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry.
On Wednesday, three major wildfires were burning in the Los Angeles metropolitan area from the Pacific Coast inland to Pasadena, leading to evacuation orders for at least 70,000 people. Per Thiry, officials said the evacuation number was constantly changing because of new orders continually being issued.”

Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill on helping Rams host playoff game: ‘Always a good time to do the right thing’ (nfl.com)
“It might be a little painful to hear, ‘Whose house? Rams House!,’” Bidwill joked to NFL.com late Saturday night. “But our hearts are breaking with what’s going on. … It’s what’s best for the league, it’s what’s best for the team, and we have to do everything we can to make sure we have a great game.”
The NFL announced on Thursday that, in the interest of public safety, the Vikings-Rams wild-card game on Monday night had been moved from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, to the Cardinals’ State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, due to raging wildfires in the Los Angeles area.”
