Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 1/24/25
The Los Angeles Rams nailed last year’s draft with Jared Verse and Braden Fiske. Both rookies competed at a high level this season, and they were catalysts for L.A.’s turnaround after their 1-4 start, but Fiske’s season came to an end due to an injury against the Philadelphia Eagles.
A bit later the Rams’ season came to an end due to their loss to the Eagles.
The good news for the Rams is that they can try again next year, and Fiske is expected to be ready to go. Hopefully there are no setbacks for the young stud.
Will either player (Verse or Fiske) go through a sophomore slump? We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, thanks for checking out Turf Show Times!
Braden Fiske to have knee procedure, is expected to be fine for 2025 season (sports.yahoo.com)
“Rams defensive lineman Braden Fiske suffered a knee injury in last Sunday’s loss to the Eagles and he’ll need some time to recover from it this offseason.
Head coach Sean McVay said on Thursday, via multiple reporters, that Fiske will need to have a procedure on his knee to repair the injury. The recovery from the procedure is not expected to impact his availability for the 2025 season.
Fiske had a tackle and a sack against the Eagles to wrap up an outstanding rookie season. The second-round pick had 44 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries for the NFC West champs.”

Rams 7-round 2025 mock draft: McVay gets his TE, LA adds QB late (ramswire)
“The Los Angeles Rams are set up well moving forward after two outstanding draft classes. They’ll try to make it three in a row this year, though their resources will be a bit limited with “only” seven draft picks in their pocket as of now.
With three months until the big event, it’s a good time for our first mock draft of the year. Using Pro Football Focus’ mock draft simulator, we went all seven rounds and made picks for the Rams without trading up or down.”
“They’re proud but they’re not going to be content.”

REPORT: Is This the End for Rams QB Matthew Stafford? (si.com)
“Simply put, outside of the Kansas City Chiefs, no team in the league would not take Stafford on their team, and even the Chiefs would likely do so if hypothetically given a chance.
However, Stafford faces a critical decision after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Divisional round of the playoffs. He undoubtedly has good football left in him, but he also has nothing left to prove, and the Rams will likely need to restructure his contract to bring him back.
Stafford could decide to retire.”
