Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 1/3/25
The NFC West has been a tight race and worth watching throughout this season, but now it’s wrapped up, and there won’t be much to monitor from an NFC West standpoint this weekend.
The Los Angeles Rams have taken division for the 2024 season, and their spot in the playoffs is secured. The Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers will be playing this week, but their campaigns are effectively over already.
The Rams suit up as well on Sunday, but they will probably play mostly backups against the Seahawks, so as the Rams are preparing for Week 18 against the Seahawks, they too must be reading to face whoever they will take on in the playoffs.
Consider this a calm before the storm of sorts because next week should be very different for the team, fans and those who cover the team as well.
Happy Friday! Please comment on whatever you want and thanks for checking out Turf Show Times!

REPORT: Rams Defender Receives National Recognition (si.com)
“After winning the NFC West for the first time since 2021, the Los Angeles Rams have one more regular-season game left before a home playoff game against a yet-to-be-determined opponent. The Rams turned a terrible start to the season into a playoff berth, a remarkable feat by head coach Sean McVay and the Rams.
The Rams have used a 9-2 record since their bye week to propel them to the playoffs. Their defense has been largely why the Rams are headed to the playoffs this season.”
“He’s excellent in coverage, he’s a physical player, he’s really, really smart.”

Rams’ 3 biggest Pro Bowl snubs this season (ramswire)
“The NFL announced its AFC and NFC rosters for the 2025 Pro Bowl Games this week and the Los Angeles Rams only had one selection: Jared Verse. While it’s hardly surprising that the Rams didn’t have many Pro Bowlers this year, they had a few other players who were deserving in addition to Verse.
They just didn’t get the necessary votes from fans, players and coaches.
Here are the Rams’ three biggest Pro Bowl snubs, as well as one honorable mention who made a strong case but has missed too much time this season.”

Rams are basically rubbing division win in Seahawks face with QB decision (fansided)
“The Seattle Seahawks are out of the playoffs while the Los Angeles Rams are in. While the two teams still have one final matchup left on the season, the Rams have already clinched the NFC West division and are rubbing it in the Seahawk’s face.
The Rams announced mid-week that they will be resting starting quarterback Matthew Stafford for Week 18 and instead will start backup Jimmy Garoppolo in his place. This will be Garoppolo’s first regular-season appearance with Los Angeles.”
We know “how much he impacts the game, and it’s just good to see he gets that recognition around the league.”
