Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 10/15/21
The 4-1 Los Angeles Rams travel to New York on Sunday to take on the 1-4 Giants. The Rams are heavily favored in this matchup and are out to get the road win while both teams play through a few injuries. The Giants will be without running back Saquon Barkley and the Rams will be without cornerback Darious Williams. The Willams absence will mean opportunity for one of the Rams rookies. But there are three rookies that could see some action this week.
ROBERT ROCHELL
Rochell is the rookie that will see the most action this week while filling in for the injured Willams. In his first outing against the Seattle Seahawks it was a mixed bag performance. His highlight play came on a pass break up in the end zone while defending Tyler Lockett. His low light play came when he was guarding DK Metcalf and got beat for a touchdown.
TUTU ATWELL
Atwell has already seen action as a punt returner. He’s yet to break a big return and has fortunately not lost a ball on a fumble or a muffed catch. He did however get off to a funky start against the Seattle Seahawks on a kick return in which he fell without being touched and saw the ball get away from him and scoot out of bounds. The second round pick is likely to see more chances on returns and if the game gets away from the Giants early, it may open the small chance of McVay deciding to get Atwell’s feet wet in the offense.
JAKE FUNK
Funk is listed as the third running back behind Darrell Henderson Jr and Sony Michel. Since Henderson has already missed a game, there is small chance that McVay decides to rotate Funk in the offense if the game is decided.
