Playoff stakes start to rise in Week 14
Looking to score a major upset and inch above .500, the Los Angeles Rams host the Buffalo Bills this Sunday. Kickoff from SoFi Stadium is set for 1:25 p.m. PST. An L.A. win would go a long way to bolster their chances to punch a playoff ticket, while the Bills are competing for the #1 overall seed in the AFC.

Averaging almost 30 points per game, Buffalo shows off a well-balanced attack. Bills QB Josh Allen is a pass/run threat, throwing for 2639 yards and adding 334 on the ground. He’s thrown for 20 touchdowns and ran for six more, with only five interceptions and 13 sacks. While Kahlil Shakir (60 catches) is the go-to wide out, Buffalo likes to use two-tight end formations. Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox have combined for 40 grabs and created space for James Cook to lead the run game with 703 yards, while Ray Davis adds 342 and a power aspect.
Defensively, Buffalo uses a deep rotation at all depths of the field. They like to use zone coverages and don’t pull the blitz out of the bag very often. The system likes to keep opposing pass games underneath and are turnover-driven, rating #2 in the NFL with 13 interceptions and 11 forced fumbles. Teams have run on the Bills to the tune of 122 yards per game and 5.0 yards per carry. They allow teams to convert third downs at a 40% rate.
The Rams have yet to put a full game together on offense and need one this Sunday. L.A. had their best rushing game of the year last week and truthfully, the Bills run defense has not been much better than the Saints. The Rams cannot afford to fall deeply behind and be forced away from the run. Staying with it can open up play action, help sustain drives, and keep the Bill potent scoring offense off the field.
Can the Rams win in the trenches? How will Buffalo fare, without the weather as an advantage?
