The Los Angeles Rams saved their season with their controversial win over the Minnesota Vikings, but despite the success, veteran cornerback Tre’Davious White still wants a trade. A first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the LSU product spent his early years establishing himself as one of the league’s top cornerbacks. Immediately making an impact, White finished second in Defensive Rookie of the Year voting and made two Pro Bowls while earning First-Team All-Pro honors during his tenure with Buffalo.
White eventually signed a long-term deal with the Bills and looked like the future of their defense. Unfortunately, injuries limited him to a combined 10 games from 2022 to 2023, and Buffalo had no choice but to cut the high-priced veteran. While signed a one-year, prove-it deal with the Rams, but the season has not gone according to plan. Maybe injuries permanently stole his physical gifts, but a team like the Kansas City Chiefs or Baltimore Ravens could make a low-risk trade for Tre’Davious White.

Rams Tre’Davious White Requests Trade – Chiefs, Ravens Top Fits
The Kansas City Chiefs entered the trade deadline with questions at wide receiver, edge rusher, and cornerback. After trading for DeAndre Hopkins and former Patriot Josh Uche, cornerback is the lone position of need remaining on this roster. Trent McDuffie is a star and one of the elite players at his position, but he can’t cover the entire field by himself. After losing L’Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans, former fourth-round pick Jaylen Watson stepped up and adequately filled the void. However, Watson suffered a season-ending ankle injury, which could force a Tre’Davious White trade.
General manager Brett Veach has done a remarkable job of finding cost-effective players on the trade market and Tre’Davious White could be this team’s next low-risk, medium-reward addition. Seeing as he struggled with the Los Angeles Rams, Veach and company could probably acquire him for a conditional seventh-round pick – perhaps the same one they acquired in the L’Jarius Sneed trade. If it works out, the Chiefs will bolster one of the league’s better defenses. If it doesn’t, then Kansas City gave up practically nothing, and the team will survive with one fewer seventh-round selection.
Fixing An Injured Secondary
Week 8’s loss to the Cleveland Browns showed the Baltimore Ravens still have work to do if they want to join the league’s elite contenders. Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry form one of the league’s most unstoppable duos, but Jameis Winston showed what happens when opposing teams can go blow-for-blow with Baltimore’s high-octane offense. With Marlon Humphrey and first-round pick Nate Wiggins battling injuries, a Tre’Davious White trade could bring some much-needed depth to a cornerback room that could use some help.
Even if Humphrey and Wiggins return to the field, Baltimore should still trade for Tre’Davious White. While Humphrey remains his usual reliable self, Wiggins has endured the growing pains typical of young NFL prospects. While nobody is saying the Clemson product cannot become a valuable part of a defense, it is fair to suggest he needs time in a reduced role to adjust to the NFL level. The Ravens are playing for a championship right now, and they can’t let their chances of glory be interrupted by allowing Wiggins to learn on the fly.
