The Los Angeles Rams are done with the preseason and are looking ahead to an exciting 2024 campaign. L.A. surprised just about everyone last season when they made the playoffs despite basement-dweller expectations, and now are hoping to follow that up with another postseason berth.
They had some big losses in the offseason, including the retirement of surefire Hall of Famer and greatest Rams player of all time Aaron Donald. But they took the loss as an opportunity to infuse enticing youth into the mix on defense, while shoring up their offense line for Matthew Stafford and company. Now, the Rams are doing some housekeeping to make sure their roster is as perfect as possible for Week 1.
Part of this includes two last-minute additions, the signing of defensive lineman Neville Gallimore and a waiver claim of running back Cody Schrader from the San Francisco 49ers. The moves were reported by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN and Field Yates of ESPN:

The Rams claimed RB Cody Schrader off of waivers from the 49ers.
He stays in the division and you all can decide what this means for PR Kyren Williams’ fantasy value.

Gallimore, 27, is entering his fifth NFL campaign after spending four seasons as a backup defensive tackle for the Dallas Cowboys. He has started in 14 games but played in 52 over the last four seasons, averaging around 40% of defensive snaps for the Cowboys. He was waived by the Miami Dolphins after signing with them this offseason.
Gallimore has four sacks, three pass deflections, 11 tackles for loss and 90 combined tackles over the last four seasons.
Schrader, 24, was an undrafted free agent in 2024 that signed with the 49ers immediately after the conclusion of this year’s draft. He went through offseason training camp with the team but was waived.
He played two seasons for the University of Missouri, missing his junior campaign with an injury. In 2023 — his sophomore season — he rushed for 1,627 yards with 14 touchdowns, finishing eighth in Heisman voting and finishing first in the SEC in rushing yards and yards from scrimmage.
Rams make cuts to set 2024 roster
The Rams made their first wave of roster cuts earlier in the week, and then they announced a bunch more ahead of Tuesday’s deadline to get the roster down to 53 players for the start of the 2024 season.

Arcuri, offensive lineman Justin Dedich, running back Zach Evans, tight end Miller Forristall, defensive back Tanner Ingle, defensive back Shaun Jolly, tight end Nikola Kalinic, defensive back Cam Lampkin, defensive lineman Tuli Letuligasenoa, offensive lineman Mike McAllister, defensive lineman David Olajiga, wide receiver Xavier Smith, wide receiver Drake Stoops, defensive back Jason Taylor II, outside lineback Keir Thomas, offensive lineman Zachary Thomas, outside linebacker Zachary VanValkenburg and wide receiver Sam Wiglusz.
