After joining the Los Angeles Rams in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, offensive guard Kevin Dotson quickly became a key part of the team’s success in 2023. Now, the team is rewarding him in a big way.
According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, the Rams are re-signing Dotson to a three-year, $48 million contract. At $16 million per year, Dotson is now one of the 10 highest-paid guards in the league.
Dotson started 14 regular season games for the Rams as well as their playoff game against the Detroit Lions.
The Rams have a lot of cap space heading into the new league year when it begins next week. Tying down a player like Dotson is a good start.
In 2023 they went 10-7 and reached the playoffs as a wildcard team after missing the playoffs entirely the year before. They only made it in by the skin of their teeth though. They started 3-6 and had to reel off seven wins in their final 10 games in order to make it to the playoffs.
But in a downright rough NFC West, the Rams are going to need to stock up on some elite players on both sides of the ball if they want to really wrest division supremacy away from the San Francisco 49ers.
What other moves do the Rams need to make in order to become a dominant power in the division once again?
