The Rams have signed general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay to multi-year contract extensions, the team announced on Monday.
The duo has worked together since the Rams hired McVay to be head coach in 2017. In nine seasons together, McVay and Snead have accumulated a 92-57 regular-season record while making two Super Bowls and winning Super Bowl LVI after the 2021 season.
Their 102 wins across the regular season and playoffs ranks 15th in NFL history.
“As we enter their 10th season together, it is only fitting to reflect on the tremendous success Sean and Les have brought to this franchise, and the indelible impact they have made on Los Angeles and the NFL,” Rams owner Stan Kroenke said in a statement. “They continue to embody the standard of this franchise to compete for championships, consistently delivering a product that our fans and city can be proud of. Their collaboration embodies the We Then Me ethos we seek in our players, coaches and staff, and we are thrilled they will be leading the Los Angeles Rams for years to come.”
While McVay was hired in 2017, Snead has been the Rams’ general manager since 2012, assembling rosters that have produced 19 Pro Bowlers, two Offensive Player of the Year Awards (Todd Gurley and Cooper Kupp) and three Defensive Player of the Year Awards (Aaron Donald, three times).
Now the pair will team up for their 10th season together and more.
“It’s special,” McVay said of the Rams’ leadership group, citing Snead as well as team president Kevin Demoff and COO Tony Pastoors. “At the end of the day, everything goes back to people. They make this place special. And then to be able to do it in a city that you love, a fanbase that you’re watching continue to grow … I just love it. This is where we’ve raised our family. So much of my life has gone on here and I’m just really grateful.”
