Rams Sign Sean McVay & Les Snead To Contract Extensions

The Los Angeles Rams have signed general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay to multi-year contract extensions, the team announced Monday.

The Snead and McVay partnership has been an extremely successful one over the last decade, and that will now continue for years to come.

“As we enter their 10th season together, it is only fitting to reflect on the tremendous success Sean and Les have brought to this franchise, and the indelible impact they have made on Los Angeles and the NFL,” Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke said in a statement. “They continue to embody the standard of this franchise to compete for championships, consistently delivering a product that our fans and city can be proud of. Their collaboration embodies the We Then Me ethos we seek in our players, coaches and staff, and we are thrilled they will be leading the Los Angeles Rams for years to come.”

In nine seasons since McVay was hired as head coach, he and Snead have led the Rams to a 92-57 regular season record and a 10-6 postseason record, which is the fifth-best in the NFL since 2017. Their 102 combined wins in the regular season and playoffs are the second-most.

During their time together, McVay and Snead have a Super Bowl victory in two appearances, two NFC Championships in three appearances, four NFC West division titles and seven playoff appearances. Los Angeles has finished with a winning record in eight of those nine years.

There was some talk about McVay being burnt out and potentially retiring in recent years, but this extension can officially put an end to all of that as he will be with the Rams for the long-haul. He and Snead have excelled at rebuilding this team through the draft since they won the Super Bowl, and that will continue moving forward as they are loaded with two first-round picks in 2026.

Even though the Rams fell short of reaching the Super Bowl this past season, losing in the NFC Championship Game, the championship window will stay open as long as Matthew Stafford keeps playing and McVay and Snead keep reloading the roster.

Rams’ Matthew Stafford to take time before deciding future

After the Rams’ loss in the NFC Championship Game, Stafford was asked if he will be back in 2026 and made it clear that he will take some time before deciding on his future.

Coming off an MVP-caliber season though, it’s hard to imagine him retiring right now, especially given how close the Rams came to completing in another Super Bowl.
