The Los Angeles Rams have had five running backs on their roster all summer, but only two have played in the preseason. That could change this week after the team signed former Seahawks running back SaRodorick Thompson to the 90-man roster on Thursday, adding some depth to the backfield.
Thompson signed with the Saints as an undrafted rookie last year but ended up landing with the Seahawks in July. He played one regular-season game with Seattle in 2023 but was on the field for just two offensive snaps. He did not carry the ball in the regular season.
Thompson played his college football at Texas Tech where he had 2,664 rushing yards and 40 touchdowns in his career. He ranks third in the Texas Tech record book with 40 career rushing touchdowns.
This signing by the Rams could signal that either Boston Scott or Zach Evans is injured, considering they’re the only two running backs expected to play against the Texans on Sunday.
