Rams Reverse Q and A: Who do you want to face in the playoffs?

Who should the Rams want to face in the wild card of the playoffs?

One of the most hyped regular season games in history will happen on Sunday night, as the 14-2 Lions take on the 14-2 Vikings for the title of NFC North champions and the number one seed in the NFC playoffs. The loser of that game will be the top wild card and will face the 4-seed in the first round.

That also means that if the Rams lose to the Seahawks, and the Bucs beat the Falcons, then L.A. would fall to the 4 seed and host the loser of Lions-Vikings.

If the Rams beat the Seahawks, or the Bucs lose to the Falcons, then the Rams will be the 3-seed and who they would face in the wild card round is again not clear:

  • The Commanders are 11-5, they play the Cowboys
  • The Packers are 11-5, they play the Bears

If the Rams win, they will face either the Commanders or the Packers. Washington is currently the 6-seed, so that means that if all these teams win, L.A. will host the Commanders. If the Commanders lose, the Packers win and the Rams win, then Sean McVay will face former employee Matt LaFleur.

So which team do you want the Rams to face in the wild card round?

  • 3-6, Rams-Commanders
  • 3-6, Rams-Packers
  • 4-5, Rams-Lions
  • 4-5, Rams-Vikings

In Reverse Q and A, I ask the questions and YOU answer them. Because you are experts on the Rams. In Thursday’s Q and A, we talked about whether McVay should rest starters and the top comment was left by delusionalramsfanslosteve, noting that it was OK to rest starters for two reasons:

delusionalramfanslosteve
I’m OK with resting the starters for two reasons; the first is I am unaware of any study that shows a definitive correlation to the success of resting or playing. So, I think it’s simply up to the players to come out sharp on Wild Card Weekend. And I will add this, the players have played 11 weeks in a row, will one more game make them any sharper? I would argue that no, it won’t. The offense has NOT been sharp. Might as well give them a week off and see if that changes anything.
The second reason is my own. I am excited to see what Corum, Tutu, and Whittington can do with a full game of reps. Jimmy G is capable enough to get the ball to the receivers, the real question is will the O-line play allow him that chance? Will the O-line create room for Corum to run? The other question is will McVay/LaFleur create a legit gameplan? If the answer is no to either of these, we probably won’t see much.

I’ll post questions in the comments below. You answer them. Rec the comments you most agree with and we’ll see who wins this week’s Reverse Q and A with the top answer.

Go, now, answer!

Who is the ideal first round matchup for the Rams?
