Puka Nacua has looked every bit of a No. 1 option for the Los Angeles Rams during the 2025 season as he leads the team in almost every receiving category outside of touchdowns.
Nacua has been a staple in the passing game, oftentimes serving as Matthew Stafford’s primary read and his go-to option whenever the Rams need to move the chains. Nacua’s size, physicality and sure hands make him an ideal target for Stafford and he’s a large reason why Los Angeles is also one of the most explosive offenses in the league.
Against the Arizona Cardinals, Nacua showed off how dominant he could be as he finished the day with seven catches for 167 yards and two touchdowns.
It was surprisingly the first time in Nacua’s career he’s had multiple touchdowns in the same game and he acknowledged he was pleased with his performance, via John Marshall of the Associated Press:
Nacua had 136 yards receiving by halftime, the fourth time he’s had at least 100 in a half and 16th since 2023, tied for most in the NFL. He added the 31-yard touchdown over Arizona cornerback Will Johnson for his first career two-TD game.
“Normally you don’t come in with too many touchdown celebrations, so I’m going to have to start coming with more in pocket,” Nacua said. “But it felt good the way we were executing on offense and getting into the end zone.”
Nacua had a field day going up against a woeful Cardinals secondary, making unreal grabs look routine on the field.
His first touchdown came on a 31-yard strike from Stafford where he muscled through the defender to get into the end zone. His second was even more impressive, beating Will Johnson at the line of scrimmage and then jumping over him and somehow managing to stay inbounds.
It was a wildly entertaining game from Nacua who continues to show the NFL that he belongs in the conversation for best receiver. He does have the benefit of playing for head coach Sean McVay and catching passes from Stafford, but there’s no doubt that the BYU product is a superstar who looks ready to lead this team back to a Super Bowl.
