Rams News: Matthew Stafford Building Trust With Davante Adams

November 5, 2025 by Rams Nation

Matthew Stafford, Davante Adams, Rams

The Los Angeles Rams improved to 6-2 with a 34-10 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 9.

Matthew Stafford had another big day as he completed 24 of 32 passes for 281 yards and four touchdowns. Davante Adams found the end zone twice and now leads the NFL with eight touchdown receptions this season.

The veteran wide receiver has already made a lasting impression in his first season with the Rams, not only for his production on the field but his ability to elevate his teammates.

Stafford enjoys throwing the ball to Adams and called him one of the smartest players he has ever shared the field with, via Wyatt Miller of TheRams.com:

“Davante’s a really sharp guy,” Stafford said. “We had some stuff at the line of scrimmage today that he and I were communicating on and (it) worked out for us. (He) did a nice job, so I got a ton of trust and respect in his aptitude to go out there and play, and his mental capabilities. And then it’s a whole lot of fun when he’s talking to me, he’s giving me great information.”

Adams, who is in his 12th NFL season, has been around the game for a while and can use that to his advantage to make his teammates better.

Rams rookie wide receiver Konata Mumpfield has praised Adams on several occasions this season and said he is helping him develop into the player he wants to become.

Adams has only played eight games with the Rams so far but it’s clear he is making a big impact in more ways than one.

Puka Nacua breaks NFL record in Rams’ win over Saints

Puka Nacua added another record to his impressive resume in the Rams’ win over the Saints on Sunday.

He passed former Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas for the most catches (239) through a player’s first 35 career games in NFL History.

Nacua needed just one catch for the record and he got it on the Rams’ first offensive play against the Saints. He caught a 10-yard pass from Matthew Stafford and then added nine more on the very next play. Nacua finished his day with seven receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown in his first game back since Week 6 because of an ankle sprain.

Nacua left Sunday’s game against the Saints in the third quarter due to a chest injury, but head coach Sean McVay said afterward that the 24-year-old is not expected to miss any time.
