Jared Verse enjoyed an outstanding debut season with the Los Angeles Rams that ended with him winning the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year Award.
Verse led all first-year players in quarterback hits (18), pressures (77) and hurries (56). He also had the second-most tackles for loss (11) and fifth-most sacks (4.5).
The outside linebacker finished the 2024 campaign with 4.5 sacks, 66 total tackles, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two passes defensed while starting 16 games. He added two more sacks and a fumble recovery in two playoff games.
As Verse enters his second season with the Rams, he was ranked 53rd on the NFL Top 100 list going into 2025:

Verse is the third Rams player to be included in this year’s NFL Top 100 as running back Kyren Williams was previously ranked No. 85 and then Matthew Stafford at No. 59.
Verse had the difficult task of replacing future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald last season and did about as good of a job as anyone could have expected.
Verse, who has many parallels to Donald, made it clear that he wants to become one of the all-time greats in the NFL after being recognized for a stellar rookie season.
“I think it’s a small step towards (becoming one of the best players ever),” Verse said after winning the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. “But there’s a lot of people that have won this award that after they win it, they get satisfied. That’s the main thing, you can’t get satisfied. This is just a small step to a big goal.”
Jared Verse ‘left around 10 sacks on the field’ during rookie season with Rams
While Verse put up impressive numbers as a rookie, he believes he left at least 10 sacks on the field and vowed to improve his total next season.
Verse said he is focused on being more intentional in 2025, which should help him finish more tackles and sacks.
