Rams News: Jared Verse Changes Tune On Eagles Fans

The Los Angeles Rams’ magical 2024 season came to an end when they were defeated by the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL Division Round.

The Rams, trailing by six with just over two minutes remaining, had a chance to pull off the biggest upset in recent memory when they moved the ball into the red zone.

However, they lost some momentum when Jalen Carter sacked Matthew Stafford on third down. L.A. then turned it over on downs when Stafford overshot Puka Nacua near the sidelines.

While it was a disappointing loss, the Rams have to be proud of how they kept up with the Eagles in one of the most difficult environments to play.

During an appearance on Whistle’s “Spa Day,” Jared Verse said the Eagles have the best fanbase aside from the Rams:

“Probably the Eagles. I’ve got to give them that. It’s just because I like when you kind of get into it, you’re aggressive, you’re loud. And they stand by that with no doubt.”

Verse added that the Eagles fanbase is the toughest to play against in the NFL:

“Probably the Eagles. Playing the Eagles is like playing your rival in college because you never know what they’re going to say. And they’re going to try to say disrespectful stuff. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not going to say anything where it’s like, ‘Bro, you crossed the line.’ But they’re going to say something where you’re like, ‘Hey, who you talking to?’”

Verse grew up in Pennsylvania and previously expressed his hatred for Eagles fans, which earned him some loud boos during the Rams’ playoff game at Lincoln Financial Field.

However, Verse’s latest comments suggest he respects Eagles fans and the passion they have for their team.

Verse didn’t let the hostility get to him as he tallied two sacks in the Rams’ playoff loss to the Eagles. He took the defeat harder than anyone and recently said he still thinks about it every day.

Jared Verse ‘left around 10 sacks on the field’ during rookie season

Jared Verse finished the 2024 season with 4.5 sacks, 66 total tackles, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two passes defensed while starting 16 games.

While those numbers are impressive, Verse believes he left at least 10 sacks on the field and vowed to improve his total next season.

Verse said he is focused on being more intentional in 2025, which should help him finish more tackles and sacks.
