The Los Angeles Rams added to their running back room last year when they selected Blake Corum out of Michigan in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Corum didn’t get much playing time early on but steadily saw more snaps as the season progressed. Unfortunately for the 24-year-old, his rookie campaign came to a premature end after he fractured his right forearm in the Rams’ regular season finale.
Now back to full health, L.A. is expecting big things from the second-year running back in 2025.
Rams running backs coach Ron Gould raved about how Corum has looked in workouts and said he is much more explosive compared to last year, via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:
Likewise, Blake Corum “has gotten his speed back, so his explosiveness has come back,” Gould said, “And then his ability to come out of cuts, which is something that we saw in the junior year and part of his senior year (at Michigan).”
Corum was one of the best running backs in the country during his time with Michigan and played a key role in the Wolverines winning the national champion in 2024.
With the Rams last year, Corum rushed for 207 yards on 58 attempts and caught seven passes for 58 yards in 16 games.
He enjoyed his best performance in Week 12 against the New Orleans Saints when he rushed for a career-high 42 yards on eight carries.
Corum figures to have the inside track as the Rams’ No. 2 running back behind Kyren Williams this year, but 2025 fourth-round pick Jarquez Hunter could earn more playing time with an impressive training camp and preseason.
Rams sign 2025 NFL Draft second-round pick Terrance Ferguson
The Rams finally agreed to terms with second-round pick Terrance Ferguson this week, who was their last unsigned player from the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Rams have high expectations for the former Oregon Duck, who hauled in 134 receptions for 1,537 yards and 16 touchdowns in four college seasons.
“Man, it’s such a blessing. I’m super excited and couldn’t ask for a better opportunity than God has put in my hands. I’m just super excited,” Ferguson said after being selected by the Rams.
“I think I bring a lot of things, versatility being the biggest, being able to stretch the field and creating mismatches with linebackers or safeties but also being able to put my nose on somebody.
“The God-gifted ability, but also the versatility and ability to be able to line up anywhere and be able to make an impact however I need to.”
