The Rams designed John Johnson III to return from IR
The Los Angeles Rams could bring safety John Johnson III back for the playoffs, but rookie running back Blake Corum is officially out for the rest of the season. Johnson was designated to return from IR on Tuesday, meaning that the veteran safety could be activated in time for L.A.’s wild card game against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night.
In another move, the Rams placed rookie running back Blake Corum on injured reserve on Tuesday, officially ending his season. In a separate but related transaction, running back Royce Freeman was signed to the practice squad and seems probable to play against the Vikings as an elevated player.

Freeman hasn’t played in the NFL this season but appeared in 14 games with L.A. last season. He would be the backup to Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers.
Johnson played in 2 games for the Rams this season, but hasn’t appeared since Week 2.
