Braden Fiske was in tears when he got the call from the Los Angeles Rams on Friday night.
Rams general manager Les Snead told Fiske that they traded up to select him before handing the phone over to head coach Sean McVay. McVay then handed the phone to a special guest, Jared Verse.
“Hey Fiske” Verse said.
It led to Fiske bursting into tears since they played together at Florida State and were extremely close.

This is what it’s all about.
The Rams selected Verse with the 19th overall pick in the draft before taking Fiske 20 picks later.
Verse played in 12 games during the 2023 season, finishing with 41 total tackles, nine sacks, a forced fumble, fumble recovery, and two passes defended.
Fiske finished the 2023 season with 43 total tackles and six sacks. It was his only season at Florida State after spending the last four at Western Michigan.
They’re now teammates again and will get to work on helping the Rams have one of the top pass rushes in the NFL.
The Rams finished the 2023 season with a 10-8 record after losing to the Detroit Lions in the NFC wild-card round.
