Forbes was selected 16th overall by Washington during the 2023 NFL Draft, though he quickly fell out of favor in the regime change from Ron Rivera to Dan Quinn. Forbes is listed at 6-0, 180 lbs.
The second-year corner made seven starts during his time in Washington while appearing in 20 contests. He’s notched two interceptions and recorded a fumble. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Forbes has been on the field for only 108 snaps this season. He’s played only eight snaps on defense since Week 7.
This should be regarded as a low risk, high reward move by Los Angeles. The Rams need all the help they can get at corner, especially with Darious Williams struggling over the last two weeks. Third-year corner Cobie Durant is better suited to play on the outside, though LA might not have a better answer at the slot position currently on the roster. Forbes could pencil in ahead of veteran Ahkello Witherspoon on the depth chart. The Rams signed Witherspoon after their free agent signing Tre White faltered out of the gate. LA traded White to the Baltimore Ravens ahead of the NFL’s trade deadline.
Forbes will rejoin his former Commanders teammate, Kamren Curl, in the Los Angeles secondary.
