Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 4/12/25
There is a chance that right now as I write this, someone within the Los Angeles Rams organization knows whether they will draft a quarterback or not, but outside of that, I don’t think anyone has any idea what L.A. will do in the upcoming draft.
What we know is they have Matthew Stafford, Jimmy Garoppolo and Stetson Bennett at present, but the future of that quarterback room is to be determined.
The Rams being able to keep people guessing is a strength, and the guessing will be over soon, but for now read the rumors, speculate away and enjoy the pre-draft process.
Thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and happy Saturday!
NFL Draft Rumors: LA Rams Looking To Draft QB As Matthew Stafford’s Backup (gridironheroics)
“According to Ben Solak’s mock draft, the Los Angeles Rams will hugely benefit from Leonard’s ability to pass and run on the field. If the team is able to bring in Riley Leonard to their squad, the Los Angeles Rams will have another superb quarterback as a backup for Stafford.
In the 2024 NFL season, the Los Angeles Rams finished at the top of the NFC West table after winning ten games and losing seven. The Rams made it to the NFL Divisional Round and played against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, they lost here with a 28-22 final score, and were shown the way out of the tournament. The team will be eager to improve their offense and hopefully make it to the playoffs in the 2025 NFL season.”

Rams named a team ‘one good draft away’ from a Super Bowl (sports.yahoo)
“With Matthew Stafford back under center, Davante Adams on the outside and a young and talented defense, Sean McVay’s squad looks like one of the better teams in the NFL. Now, L.A. has the chance to build on that roster and really contend for a championship in 2025.
That’s why Yahoo Sports’ Matt Harmon and Frank Schwab named the Rams as a team that’s one good draft away from winning the Super Bowl this season.
“If they have another one of those drafts where you can fix the cornerback situation,” Schwab said, “the Rams go from the best team in the NFC West to maybe one of the best teams in the NFC.”

Rams strategize for Super Bowl glory as they eye dynamic playmaker Jack Bech in bold draft trade maneuver (motorcyclesports.net)
“The Rams have long built their identity around a balanced mix of seasoned leadership and budding talent, centered on star quarterback Matthew Stafford and visionary coach Sean McVay. As they hone their roster with a limited slate of eight draft picks, the upcoming selections carry an amplified burden. With no picks in the second round, the team’s pivotal choice comes in the form of a 26th overall selection, raising the stakes for immediate yet sustainable improvement. In an environment where every roster decision can influence the season, the draft emerges as the ultimate strategic battlefield.
Calculated Risks and Trade Tactics
Facing the inherent challenge of limited draft capital, the Rams are open to unconventional strategies. One proposal on the table involves trading back in the first round to secure extra picks and inject more depth into the squad. The thinking is clear: while a first-round talent is compelling, having additional assets can fortify the team against unforeseen injuries or dips in form. This tactical shift underscores a philosophy that values resilience and adaptability—a recognition that championship aspirations require both star power and robust supporting talent.”
