Can the Packers beat the Seahawks on Sunday Night Football and give Rams control of NFC West
The Los Angeles Rams will have their eyes on the the Sunday Night Football game in Week 15 as the Green Bay Packers take on the Seattle Seahawks. It will be a big game for the Rams to monitor as a Seahawks loss would put the Rams in firm control of the NFC West with three weeks to play. A win and one more Seahawks loss would clinch the division.
The Seahawks defense has started to play better as of late which was to be expected in the first season under Mike Macdonald. Since Week 8, the Seahawks defense ranks eighth in EPA per play. The big question this time of year is whether or not Geno Smith can rise to the occasion. Smith has a tendency of starting the year hot and tailing off in December and January. The Seahawks need their quarterback to play well if they are going to make a run over the final stretch of the year.
On the other end, the Packers continue to slide under the radar. The Packers have had 10 days off after playing last Thursday. Jordan Love hasn’t been special, but has been doing just enough to win games for the Packers. Love has shown this season that he has the talent, but needs to be more consistent and not put his defense in bad spots with turnovers.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Packers are 2.5-point favorites on the road against the Seahawks. The Seahawks being underdogs in primetime on the road is certainly odd given the typical home field advantage. However, the Seahawks lost a home primetime game early in the year against the 49ers. This should be a close game, but with extra rest, the Packers could have a slight advantage.
The Pick: Packers (-2.5)
Season Record: 19-23
