The Dolphins released Odell Beckham Jr on Friday
The Miami Dolphins released receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. on Friday, ending a forgettable tenure in South Beach for the former Ram who helped L.A. win a Super Bowl. OBJ played in nine games with the Dolphins, made zero starts, and caught nine passes for 55 yards on 18 targets.
It is clear that Miami had significant problems on offense, in the passing game, and with or without Tua Tagovailoa. But even amid that turmoil, surely OBJ thought he could have at least a 100-yard season.
Not so the case.

OBJ’s last 1,000-yard season came in 2019 with the Browns, but he has managed to make a long career and millions of dollars off of being a household name.
OBJ had 319 yards in 2020 with the Browns. Then he had 537 yards in 2021, splitting time with the Browns and Rams. Next, he missed all of 2022 while recovering from the torn ACL he suffered in the Super Bowl. Then the Ravens paid him about $18 million for one season and he had 565 yards in Baltimore last year.
The Rams do not need any more receivers, and OBJ probably wouldn’t be a solution if they did, but someone may yet pick him up again.
