Kelly Stafford, the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, may want to stay off social media for the next few days. Of course, that’s if she doesn’t want to read negative comments about herself.
During an appearance on the “Off the Vine” podcast, Kelly opened up about the early stages of her relationship with Matthew. That led to her revealing that she actually dated Matthew’s backup when he was a star at Georgia.
Kelly told Kristin Bristowe that she strictly dated the backup quarterback to make Matthew jealous.
“At first, I hated him. I loved him. I dated the backup to [expletive] him off, which worked,” Kelly said. “He was the bad boy too like Matthew’s so sweet and Southern gentleman and all that stuff and the backup was the complete opposite. And it upset him.
“They lived in the same dorm room because athletes lived in the same dorm room. He would see my car there. At one point he waited and followed me into the car. I was like, ‘This is amazing, it’s working.’ I was like, ‘Get out of my car.’ He was like, ‘He’s not right for you.’ I was like, ‘What? You can’t tell me that.'”
NFL fans can’t believe Kelly would share this information with the public. They believe it’s an incredibly shameful thing to do.
“Kelly Stafford, I promise you this is the weirdest flex,” one person wrote on X.
Another person said, “Kelly Stafford heavily criticized Harrison Butker for his speech defending Catholic values. Here is Kelly Stafford laughing about sleeping with her husband’s backup to make him jealous in college. Imagine being the mother of four daughters and degrading their father like this.”
“Heyyyyy Kelly Stafford — not every story needs told,” a fan tweeted.
“Kelly Stafford talking too much and embarrassing herself and her husband. Again. Who coulda seen this coming,” another social media user added.
Matthew Stafford has not yet addressed his wife’s comments. Her story made it very clear that he was aware of what was going on.
Besides, it seems like everything worked out for Matthew and Kelly. They’ve been married for several years and have four daughters together.
