Just over two weeks ago, it looked likely that the Los Angeles Rams would use their top pick to select an edge rusher or defensive lineman. At BetMGM, edge rusher/defensive line was the favorite to be the first position drafted by the Rams at -150 ($150 wins $100) on April 5.
The next closest was offensive line at +350 ($100 wins $350, but the odds have flipped with just a few days left until the big event.
According to BetMGM, offensive line now has the best odds to be the first position drafted by the Rams at +115. Second is defensive lineman/edge at +150, with wide receiver being third at +800.
That’s a pretty dramatic change in a matter of two weeks and it’s unclear exactly what’s caused that switch from the oddsmakers, but it’s fascinating as the draft approaches. Might the Rams move up for an offensive lineman? Could they stand pat and draft someone like Amarius Mims or Troy Fautanu?
If they do trade up, Taliese Fuaga out of Oregon State would be a great target, as would Olu Fashanu from Penn State. Either one could be a franchise left tackle for Los Angeles and would be worth a top-15 pick.
We won’t have to wait too much longer before we find out who the Rams select in Round 1, with Day 1 of the draft beginning on Thursday night.
