Sean McVay is now the winningest coach in Rams history
By beating the Saints, Sean McVay not only got the Rams back to .500, he also set a new franchise record for wins by a head coach. Now 76-51 in the regular season since he was hired by the Rams in 2017, McVay passed John Robinson for the well deserved team record.
McVay is looking for his seventh winning season out of eight tries.

Other Rams coaches burned hot, like McVay, but they didn’t stick around for as long:
- George Allen has the team’s best winning percentage at .742 (49-17-4) but only coached the Rams for five seasons prior to his contract expiring and not being renewed in 1971
- Mike Martz also has a better winning percentage than McVay at .624 (53-32) but he only coached the Rams for six seasons, from 2000-2005
- Chuck Knox won 54 games in his first five seasons with the Rams, but stepped down after another playoff loss in 1977. Knox returned to coach three more seasons beginning in 1992, but went 15-33
- Dick Vermeil went 13-3 in his last season with the Rams, but just 9-23 in his first two
John Robinson had longevity, coaching the Rams from 1983 to 1991, but not the winning percentage. He went 75-68 and reached two conference championship games (1985 and 1989) but went 8-24 in his final two seasons.
Sean McVay already held the record for most playoff games (11) and playoff wins (7) by a Rams head coach, as well as the most Super Bowl appearances.
