“That’s probably the direction we’ll go”, said the Rams HC of resting starters against Seahawks
“To sit or play”? Never a question with Sean McVay.
The Rams head coach told reporters on Tuesday that the Rams have typically rested starters in situations like this one and that that’s what McVay is leaning towards doing in L.A.’s Week 18 season finale against the Seattle Seahawks. The Rams have locked up the NFC West title and even if there’s a chance for L.A. to be the 3 seed instead of the 4 seed or the 4 seed instead of the 3 seed, health is more important.
Noting that the Rams typically err on the side of rest during a long season, McVay said: “I would imagine as we continue to finalize our plans, that’s probably the direction we’ll go.”
He also added praise for Blake Corum, L.A.’s backup running back, and the workload he’ll get in Week 18, as well as Jimmy Garoppolo.
It sounds like #Rams HC Sean McVay will rest his starters on Sunday, even if the Rams are in a position to move up from the #4 seed (in case of a Bucs victory) to the #3 seed with a win

The Rams don’t know who they’re playing against in the playoffs, but they know who they aren’t playing with this Sunday.
