Rams GM Les Snead commented on chances of Aaron Donald coming out of retirement
Recently, Rams general manager Les Snead appeared on the Rich Eisen show and the topic of a possible Aaron Donald return came up. Snead talked about Donald expressing that his “cup is full”. A line the future Hall of Famer expressed himself when he retired.

Did the @RamsNFL general manager just drop a major breadcrumb about what could possible happen (and who could possibly return) during the 2024 season???#NFL #NFLDraft @AaronDonald97 pic.twitter.com/tsvASOAFUt

Eisen pressed the subject by asking if Snead or the Rams tried to convince Aaron that his cup could be “larger”, or maybe wasn’t as filled as AD would want? Snead says that Donald is most likely done with his time as a player, but adds fuel to the topic by mentioning that L.A. once brought a player out of retirement: Eric Weddle.
Per Snead:
“Lets call it going back to our Super Bowl run that there was a player by the name of Eric Weddle…I did mention (to AD) if we happen to get to the playoffs again maybe we’ll circle back and see…if the cup’s not quite filled.”
Eisen response was a simple “Really?!?” and Snead did reply, but his answer pretty much confirmed what everyone assumes, and that is that #99 has retired. Snead says that he doesn’t even know if Donald would want to suit up for only a few games having not been there for the rest of the season with the squad.
“I doubt Aaron’s gonna do that.”
All signs point to us not seeing Donald play another NFL snap, but anything is possible. As Snead points out there is “no breaking news here.” At this time this is just more of a fun interaction between Eisen and Snead.
