Quinnen Williams could miss his first game of the season
Quinnen Williams could be the most important player on the Jets defense, but the two-time Pro Bowler on track for his third straight such season is in danger of missing his first game this year. The Jets listed Williams as a did not practice on Wednesday, and he was seen doing rehab work on the sidelines early on Thursday.
Interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said Williams would “fight his butt off” to play against the Rams this weekend, but L.A.’s interior offensive line could end up catching a huge break if he doesn’t.

Williams has 6 sacks this season, which is already more than the 5.5 he had in 2023.
The third overall pick out of Alabama in 2019 and a first-team All-Pro in 2022 when he had 12 sacks, Williams is much of a “load” as any in the NFL. The impact he’s had on teammate Will McDonald’s 10 sacks this season can’t be understated.
Guard Alijah Vera-Tucker and cornerback Michael Carter were also DNP for the Jets on Wednesday, whereas Tyler Higbee practiced in full for the Rams and is set to make his 2024 debut.
