After three years as defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Rams, Raheem Morris is the new head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. So far, he’s been working to fill his staff with some of the new friends he made in L.A.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Falcons are hiring Rams passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Zac Robinson as their new offensive coordinator. Per the report, Robinson was Morris’ top choice for the job.
“Sources: The #Falcons are hiring #Rams pass-game coordinator Zac Robinson as their new OC under Raheem Morris. One of the most popular interviews on the OC circuit, Robinson was Morris’ top choice,” Rapoport wrote.
Robinson is a rising star who had been interviewing for offensive coordinator jobs around the league before the Falcons hired Morris. But after three years of working together, Robinson is working alongside a familiar face.
Fans are calling this hire a major coup for the Falcons:
“Raheem Morris has been the head coach for a few days and he’s already registered his first major victory,” one user replied to Rapoport.
“Inject this into my veins. The #Falcons offense will fulfill its immense potential in the Shanahan/McVay scheme,” wrote another.
“I KNEW IT WAS COMING There y’all are! Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Bijan Robinson about to EAT,” a third wrote.
Will the Falcons assemble the best new staff this offseason?
