Can Joe Burrow and Bengals beat Cowboys on the road?
The NFL Week 14 slate will wrap up on Monday Night football with the Cincinnati Bengals playing the Dallas Cowboys. Neither team are necessarily in playoff contention. However, if the Bengals were to win out, they may have a chance if things go their way at the final spot in the AFC playoff picture.
This season, the Bengals simply have not shown the ability to come out on top in big games. They have losses by one point to both the Ravens and the Chiefs. Last week, their defense gave up 44 in a six-point loss to the Steelers. If the Bengals were where everybody expected them to be, Joe Burrow would almost undoubtedly be in the MVP conversation.
The Cowboys have shown signs of life over the last two weeks with two division wins over the Commanders and Giants. Backup quarterback Cooper Rush has shown the ability to efficiently run the offense just as he did back in 2022. At 5-7, it’s too little too late for the Cowboys, but they at least have the ability to make things interesting.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Bengals are 5.5-point favorites on the road against the Cowboys. That line feels big as the Bengals haven’t shown the ability to win games convincingly. A lot of that is because the defense has not played well this season with teams scoring at ease. Even if this game does become a shootout, it will be difficult for Rush and the Cowboys offense to keep up with Burrow. I’ll take the Bengals to win and cover in this one.
The Pick: Bengals (-5.5)
Season Record: 18-23
