Matthew Stafford – Back
Matthew Stafford is the key name to watch throughout the remainder of training camp and the preseason. Originally, Sean McVay reported that Stafford would miss the first week of training camp practices because of back soreness. Now, the signal caller will be week-to-week because of his back lingering. Fans are naturally worried because the last time Sean McVay mentioned a training camp injury for Stafford it was related to his throwing elbow in 2022. That turned out to be a year long issue for the quarterback resulting in his worst season as a Ram.
Chris Paul Jr – Calf
The Rams fifth round pick is nursing a calf injury as of the past two practices. According to Sean McVay, the medical team is playing things safe and trying to be smart with him. As a fan reading the tea leaves, this does seem like more than just a short-term issue. I expect Paul will miss more time next week and likely fall on the depth chart.
Alaric Jackson – Blood clots
The left tackle has been dealing with blood clots since late May / early June. However, the 27 year old has been able to make it onto the field in a limited capacity.

This is the second time during his tenure with Los Angeles that Alaric Jackson has battled blood clots. The other time was in 2022, a season that went off the rails for LA.
Akhello Witherspoon – Calf
Sean McVay named the starting cornerback has a player nursing a calf injury. He is considered day-to-day. Witherspoon’s injury seems to only be mild.
The Rams will put on the pads starting tomorrow, July 28th and although that provides more of a litmus test for the coaches to evaluate, it does tend to invoke more risk for players to get hurt. Hopefully, the Rams can escape the next few practices without any setbacks on the injury front. On the bright side, it is only July and the Rams have more than a month to get their squad healthy by the second week of September.
