Breaking: “Crossroads” Relationship Could Lead to Massive Ravens Trade

December 27, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

The 2025 season hasn’t gone exactly the way the Baltimore Ravens wanted, which could lead to the possible exploration of a Lamar Jackson trade this upcoming offseason. Longtime Baltimore Sun Columnist, Mike Preston, cast doubt on Jackson’s future as the long-term quarterback with the Ravens, which is why he believes a trade might be best. After hearing the rumors, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has never “seen anything like that” regarding the report from Preston. The columnist went on to report that Harbaugh has grown tired of Jackson, which Harbaugh denies.

It’s shocking in itself that the columnist would assume “such” behavior from the quarterback, but the Ravens trading Jackson at some point may make sense. The quarterback knows how to win football games during the regular season, but he is 3-5 in the postseason. However, it will need to take a lot out of Baltimore to move on from Jackson, so nobody should expect a trade anytime soon.

Breaking: “Crossroads” Relationship Could Lead to Massive Ravens Lamar Jackson Trade

Either way, it’s always fun to speculate on this type of situation since several teams could use a permanent, adequate quarterback. Originally selected in the first-round, it’s hard to imagine that the three-time All-Pro would leave the Ravens. However, reportedly, he’s open to joining the Dolphins, but that is most likely just a rumor.

Jackson is still under a five-year contract signed in 2023, so he isn’t going anywhere. The quarterback took a step back this season, but it won’t jeopardize his starting role. For the sake of speculation and this article, here are three possible destinations for the MVP.

Possible Next Teams

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts have one of the best well-rounded offenses in the league, but they’re lacking a true long-term leader. Daniel Jones has blossomed into one of the better starters, but after tearing his Achilles, the starting role for next season is up for grabs. Even with Philip Rivers back in the league, it doesn’t guarantee that the veteran will play beyond the 2026 campaign. Indianapolis will draft a quarterback, but the team could look to add someone like Jackson.

He has the arm and speed to turn things around permanently in Indianapolis and will have one of the fastest running backs in Jonathan Taylor. If the Colts want to be aggressive, they should try to trade for Jackson.

Las Vegas Raiders

With Tom Brady’s dissatisfaction in Las Vegas as the minority owner, the Raiders could look to change this offense drastically. Geno Smith’s first year as the leader of this group has been a complete disaster. While they will draft a quarterback, the Raiders should trade for Jackson. It will take a while before Las Vegas becomes a postseason team, but if they play their cards right and send their extra picks, a trade for Jackson shouldn’t be out of the question for them.

Jackson would do wonders on an offense that contains Brock Bowers and Ashton Jeanty as long as they can make a splash trade for a receiver, too.

Los Angeles Rams

Meanwhile, quarterback Matthew Stafford isn’t going to play ball forever. This means that head coach Sean McVay will draft a new potential leader in 2026. Stafford is on fire, but teased a retirement last offseason. If anything, McVay has the brains to put the Rams offense in the best situation with Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams, and adding Jackson in that overhaul would make sense for his possible sudden arrival.
